Check out what each unit was up to this week!
Carmel: Carmel had an amazing Opening Day. We played get-to-know you games as well as board games. We are beating the heat by playing in the sprinklers. Last night we enjoyed a recipe night and decorating cookies. We experienced our first Shabbat at Chapel on the Hill. We can’t wait for our trip to Beltzville State Park.
Sharon: Sharon spent this week learning camp traditions and making lots of new friends. We enjoyed making sock puppets at our first evening program. Last night we had a having Hygiene Night to help us learn to make beds, pass and stack as well as talked about proper shower hour etiquette all with a fun twist. Sharon is looking forward to visiting Beltzville on Monday.
Kineret: This week we had a great time getting to know each other and starting to form life long friendships! We had an evening pool party, participated in Kineret University program to learn camp protocols like passing and stacking as well as camp cheers. We also played “Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader”. We enjoyed our first Shabbat together!
Arava: Arava had an awesome first week! We had a blast going to Arts, Athletics and Free Swim in the pool! We played “Minute to Win It”, participated in a Kentucky Derby and engaged in a program about saving our planet. Next week we are excited for Dutch Springs!
Galil: This week in Galil we had so much fun in the rain and beating the heat! Throughout the past few days, Galil campers had the chance to do Adventure, try out their new Chugim and Clinic Electives and swam in the Z Pool. Galil did a amazing job leading the Friday night Shabbat service. The campers worked hard preparing their service readings about the value of kindness, performing music during the service and creating art work to share with camp. We are looking forward to a fun busy week ahead and our trip to Dutch Springs.
K’Far Noar: K’Far had an awesome first week of the session! We got to Athletics, Teva, Arts, Adventure, and JLife. We had shabbat services in the beautiful summer weather and had several campers participate in services on Saturday. Our favorite evening programs were Decades Night, Rak Dan, and Boys/Girls Night (which ended in a campfire)! We are really looking forward to all of the amazing things in the upcoming week, such as our rafting trip in a few short days, the Fourth of July, K’farRah Palooza, and leading Shabbat services next Saturday.
Chavurah: We are having a fantastic week down in the village! After spending our first full day at camp on Thursday, we took some buses over to the trails on the north end of Beltzville State Park for a hike with the Teva staff on Friday morning. We followed up the hikes with a picnic down near the Beltzville Lake. Our first Shabbat was also great. We prayed on the Hill, sang in the Chadar Ochel (dining hall), and partied at Rak Dan. Saturday was hot but relaxing. Onward!
Gesher: The CIT’s are thrilled to be back home at camp! They worked hard welcoming families and moving laugged into the bunks. They engaged with campers in their first weekly rotation and are working/playing hard! They have been engaged in leadership training to prepare them to be on staff next summer. Gesher had a blast white water rafting and are looking forward to hosting the 4th of July Carnival.
