Read below for a re-cap for Week 3 from each unit!

Carmel: Carmel had an amazing third week! We played in the rain and had fun in the sun! We got to cook in the new teaching kitchen and take pictures with Jen Lee. We made Ooblek during science night and learned about non-newtonian fluids. We laughed our butts off during the CIT Variety Show and cheered on our Gesher Participants. We also got to spend some quality time singing with Nefesh Mountain! We are looking forward to our Carmel Shabbat service on Friday!

Sharon: Sharon has been having all kinds of fun this week! We were visited by Jen Lee for a special photography session and Path to Rhythm came to teach us drumming techniques. We also got to spend a lot of time with the a jewish bluegrass rock star band, Nefesh Mountain. The best surprise of the week was when we had an impromptu wedding between two counselors instead of ETB (early to bed) after Shabbat! This week has been full of camp fun and we can’t wait for color war and the banquet next week to wrap up a great summer!

Kineret: Kineret has had an amazing third week! This past Friday we led services on the topic of gratitude. We are incredibly grateful that Nefesh Mountain led services with us. Saturday night we jammed out at the Nefesh Mountain concert, even though it was a little rainy we had a blast. Sunday night we watched Monsters University. The camp play, Hercules was fantastic. We had several Kineret campers involved in the play and we loved cheering them on. We cannot wait to see the joy of Maccabiah over the next three days!

Arava: This week was so fun! We had great evening programs such as Potato Night and a Nefesh Mountain concert. Arava had a lot of fun at Hershey Park! We are very excited for the last week of camp, including color war and banquet. We are sad to think of leaving our home away from home!

Galil: Wow what a week! It started with our Hershey trip. We went on so many rides and ate a ton of candy. After Hershey, three Galil bunks went on the Galil Hike! All three bunks had such a great time and learned a Galil hike song that their CITs learned when they were in Galil. We had some amazing evening programs like battle of the bunks where our bunks came up with a dance and performed them in front of the whole unit. We also watched the CIT Variety show! All of the Galil CITs did a great job and were hilarious. We also watched a lot of Galil campers in the camp play, Hercules. We loved supporting our friends and watching them get up in front of camp. We have had such an amazing week. Can’t wait for next summer!!

K’Far Noar: K’Far had the best week yet! We had an amazing time in New York City seeing the sites and shopping. We went to the Whitney Museum of Art, the Jewish Heritage Museum, the 9/11 memorial, took a walking tour of Greenwich Village, and had free time in the city. We also saw Come From Away, a incredible musical about the impact of 9/11. Since returning to camp, we have been enjoying our regularly scheduled activities. We especially loved spending time with our musical guests Nefesh Mountain. K’Far is looking forward to a great last week!

Chavurah: Chavurah had an awesome time in Washington, D.C. this week! We got to see the monuments, visit a historic synagogue, and be featured on the Jumbotron at the Nationals’ game. We also visited the Holocaust Museum and Gettysburg Historic Battlefield to learn about the sacrifices that have been made in our Jewish and American heritage. Since returning, we’ve had an awesome unit stream hike, our last Rak Dan as campers, and have started preparing to lead services on Saturday.

Gesher Our week began with super fun trips to Dorney Park and Hershey Park with our campers. On Wednesday, after many long weeks of writing, choreographing, and rehearsing, we finally got to put on our Variety Show for all of camp. The next day we got to go on our trip out of camp. We got lunch at Platz’s, went shopping at Wal-Mart, saw the new Mission Impossible movie, and ended our fun day roller skating at Big Wheel. We’re very excited for the start of Maccabiah even though it means the summer is almost coming to a close…
