On opening day, our first thought was, “what is our bunk like?” But when we stepped foot in it, the first things we saw were the hundreds of signatures all around. The names, inside jokes, letters and mementos all helped us remember past summers. Every stroke of a pen carries ever lasting memories that are still cherished today.

As current Chavurah campers, it’s incredibly special that we get to live in one of the camp’s only places with so many signatures. Besides the bunk, another place in the village that’s held tight in our hearts is the barn. During our first evening program, we were able to go inside it. From top to bottom, side to side, there are signatures dating back to around 1980. However, the most special part was seeing our previous counselors’ names. It helped us to remember all of the love and support they gave us. The memories past campers made make us so excited to create our own and leave our mark on camp as Chavurah 2019.

Mia R. has been coming to camp for 5 summers. She is from Lancaster, PA. Her favorite part about camp is spending time with her friends.

Felicia P. is from Bethesda, MD. It is her 7th summer at camp. She loves singing and banging on the tables at Friday Night song sessions!
