While our first week was really only 3 days- we were busy having fun and making new friends.

Carmel: Carmel enjoyed their collective firsts at Camp Harlam. The first week, first Shabbat, and the start of new friendships. Crowd favorites included MTV night, bunk choice and free swim. Buzz is swarming the Carmel bunks about their Chavurah buddies. The unit of Carmel is excited for another fantastic week at Camp Harlam.

Sharon: This week we arrived at camp and got to know each other as a unit! We had a lot of water fun at instructional and free swim. We spent our evenings playing fun games of paint tag and mafikin (an obstacle course in the dark), and more! We loved bunk free choice, where we played gaga and fun card games, climbed the tower and did Goobie’s course.

Kineret: This week Kineret had a super fun filled week! Our favorite evening program was water games! We also tried out lots of arts and made some candles! Kineret celebrated our first Shabbat together on the hill and had a peaceful weekend.

Arava: This week we arrived at camp and immediately started having fun with a pep rally, bunk pictures, and swimming. We got to play in the pool, doing water polo and water Zumba. We had an evening program called potato night where we decorated potatoes, played potato bowling, and went potato picking while blindfolded. This week we also had tfilah (service) prep with the Jlife department so that we could lead Saturday morning services, which was focused around the theme of the power of words. After leading amazing services, we had bunk free choice, where we did mask chain making, gaga, drama, and more.

Galil: This week, Galil campers preformed amazing dances for MTV night in front of the whole camp. Campers competed against each other in a unit kickball game. They also did some water Zumba and water polo. Campers and staff enjoyed a night of pointless debates and nail clippers ranked supreme, against t-Rex, paintbrushes, and water bottles. And each bunk got to work on team building at the low ropes course

K’Far Noar: During the first week of K’far Noar, this amazing unit navigated coming together as a whole community after summers of living apart. These incredible teens have spent their days creating art, debating the many topics of life, and exploring the village our unit calls home.  We continue to grow as one. Kfar looks forward to the upcoming week that is filled with more adventure and fun.

Chavurah: It was an amazing first week in Chavurah! We got started on our arts and athletics rotations! It’s been so fun to make mask chains, make a dance, practice some song leading and so much more in arts! In athletics, we got to play basketball, tennis, volleyball, do some gymnastics, and even yoga! We got to know our village and had so much fun around our beautiful fire pit. Looking forward to lots more weeks like these!

Gesher: In the first week of being in the Gesher program, we have spent a lot of time learning and improving as we prepare to become future staff members. As part of our preparation, we have planned programs and events for all ages, participated in activities with campers, and worked together to move past any adversities we have as a unit. This week has been full of unexpected struggles and immense growth. We are very grateful for the learning experiences and our wonderful staff as we continue to grow as a unit, people, and leaders.
