Week 2 was a blast. It has been an exciting week of sports, arts and adventure. This week’s highlight was “Israel Day!” Read below to find out more about each unit and what they did last week.

Carmel: Opah Ay Carmel had their very first Israel Day! With the help of Harlam’s Mishlachat, the unit of Carmel traveled to Eliat, Tel Aviv, Haifa and Jerusalem. Not only did the unit travel around Israel, they also traveled around camp making food creations based on different Harlam locations. After receiving letters from their mystery buddies, Carmel is even more excited to meet their Chavurah buddies!

Sharon: Sharon had a great week! We had so much fun at sock puppet night, where we exercised our creativity to make sock puppet friends! We took pictures with them, introduced them to other sock puppets, and played games with them. We also had so much fun at So You Think You Can Dance Night, where we created dances with our friends and performed them for the unit! We had free swim almost every day this week, and had so much fun splashing and diving in the pool. We ended the week with a super fun Israel day and Israel night, where we played fun games and learned a lot!

Kineret: This week Kineret had tons of fun at our Iron Pigs night! We also led camp in Friday night services. Kineret showed off their special skills at the talent show and became detectives at Murder Mystery night. We are looking forward to messy night and meeting our K’far Noar buddies!

Arava: We had a great week in Arava! We had a yad making program where we each made our own yad to use to read from the Torah. We also had lots of Chofesh, where our staff led us in cloud watching, bracelet making, a water tour of camp, and other really fun activities! We got to go on a stream hike and a hike through the woods (we got to build a shelter on this one!), and we also had lots of athletics and arts options for the week. One of our evening programs was S’mores and Shira, where we got to learn new Jewish songs and then enjoy s’mores around the campfire. We are really excited for what the next week has in store!

Galil: This week the Galil campers went on the stream hike, had lots of water fun, and battled each other in cake decoration!! We strengthened our bonds by doing a Cross the Line Evening program. We also learned about our Israeli staff and the state of Israel on Israel Day (complete with a fun carnival!). We can’t wait for an awesome week (sneak peek: Galil hike and Saturday morning services). Go Galil!!

K’Far Noar: Yet another exciting week for K’Far Noar! We had some goofy fun and explored our creative side during evening programs like k’frat night and slam poetry night. Half of our unit trekked TEN MILES on the Appalachian trail and the other half is looking forward to their hike on August 9th. We can’t wait to meet our Kineret buddies and enjoy the rest of our session!

Chavurah: It was another great week in Chavurah! We loved getting in the swing of second session! It was a full week of Omanut, athletics, Teva, and free swim in our very own I pool! We also started our university programs, where we learn about DEI and have discussions on values. We’re so excited for the coming week for Carmel/Chavurah Day and spending time in our beautiful village. We can’t wait for two more weeks of fun!
