The One Happy Camper grant offers incentives for a child’s first summer at a Jewish overnight camp. The grant must be used during a child’s first summer. The grant amount is $1,000 for either our first or second session or $700 for our Rishonim intro experience.

Things to note about OHC grants:

• In Northern New Jersey, the MetroWest area of New Jersey, and the Washington D.C. metro area, the grant amount is increased to $1,500 for first or second session or $1,000 for Rishonim if your application is submitted prior to December 31st. This offer is valid while funds last. Other areas may have increased grant amount as well.
• For families that fall within a small community with a small Jewish population, the grant is increased to $1,500 and is available for 2 years. This is based on your zip code, and eligibility is determined when you submit your grant application to One Happy Camper.
• Some areas offer a reduced grant amount for families who have received a One Happy Camper grant in the past for a sibling.
• You must first enroll at Camp Harlam and pay the full tuition amount before applying for a One Happy Camper grant. Once you submit your application to OHC and the OHC verifies your enrollment, your grant will be added as a credit to your CampInTouch account with Camp Harlam.

The One Happy Camper grant application usually opens in October at onehappycamper.org. We are listed as URJ Camp Harlam in the OHC system. OHC usually takes a few weeks to verify enrollment and issue grants. Camp Harlam is committed to making sure that everyone receives the OHC grant, so please reach out to us if you are deemed ineligible by OHC after submitting your grant application.

If you are interested in having a child attend camp for both the First and Second Sessions (each session is 3½ weeks) please select ONLY the “Full Season” check box when enrolling. Last year, approximately 20% of Camp Harlam campers attended camp for the full summer. The Full Season price is inclusive of an intersession program with a Visiting Day for families.

Camp Harlam families will receive a $150 credit for their second child enrolled in a single season. Each additional child enrolled in a single season at Camp Harlam will receive a $250 credit.

Additionally, through the generosity of the Weidhorn Family Foundation, a $1,000,000 endowment for scholarship has been established at Camp Harlam. This will allow us to begin awarding special Weidhorn Scholarship Program awards to families with 2, 3, 4 or 5 children at camp. No special form needs to be completed; families interested in being considered for this program will self-identify through the online Financial Assistance application and acceptance in the Weidhorn Scholarship Program will occur during Camp Harlam’s Scholarship Committee review process.

Payments may be made by E-check, Debit Card (both without surcharge), and Credit Card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover). A non-refundable 2.75% credit card processing fee will be added to all credit card transactions. There is a $500 deposit due upon registration.
