This is Why We Do This

This is Why We Do This

The days are long and there are always a million things on our to-do lists, but it is moments like this – helping kids realize all they have to be grateful for – that make this job so meaningful.

Leaving Our Own Mark

Leaving Our Own Mark

As current Chavurah campers, it’s incredibly special that we get to live in one of the camps only places with so many signatures. Besides the bunk another place in the village that’s held tight in our hearts is the barn.

Becoming Leaders

Becoming Leaders

Throughout camp there is an essence of leadership.  As one develops, the leadership opportunities widen.  As Chavurah campers we are given a sense of obligation to be leaders.

What Makes Unit Cheers So Special?

What Makes Unit Cheers So Special?

Crossing the Bridge Again

Crossing the Bridge Again

After graduating college and preparing to enter the real world, I felt using my moment of transition to give back to the community that made me the person I am today would be incredibly rewarding, especially if I could lead Gesher through theirs

An Exhilarating Roller Coaster

An Exhilarating Roller Coaster

As I nervously drove through the gates on June 9th, I was immediately embraced, physically and metaphorically. So far, this summer has been amazing, already exceeding my expectations. My camp nightmares have ceased, and campers and staff are already changing each other’s lives.

Goats, Goats, We Have Goats!

Goats, Goats, We Have Goats!

Thinking about how we interact with natural spaces, such as the mantra “leave no trace” or consequences of deforestation and habitat loss can be considered and discussed with our Teva Rangers.
